Adeshina was commissioned into the Nigerian Air Force nine days before NAF 931 crashed in the Igbokoda area of Ondo State on Monday, killing everyone aboard.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Military sources who spoke with TheCable said Adeshina emerged as the best graduating cadet of Branch Commission Course 3. He received his award from the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, during the passing-out parade at the Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna on September 26.

His commissioning was expected to mark the beginning of a promising career as a flying officer. However, his career was cut short just nine days later.

The NAF said Adeshina was the only flying officer aboard the ill-fated aircraft.

Although his exact age was not immediately known, military sources said he joined the Air Force in August 2010 as a member of Basic Military Training Course 27.

He initially served as an air intelligence operator and steadily rose through the ranks, attaining the rank of sergeant in September 2025.

His performance and academic record later earned him selection for the branch commissioning programme, through which serving personnel are commissioned as officers.

He subsequently underwent training at the Nigerian Defence Academy as a member of Branch Commission Course 3, where he emerged as the best graduating cadet.

Adeshina was formally commissioned as a flying officer specialising in air intelligence on September 26.

Following his death, friends and colleagues have taken to social media to mourn him and share memories of his life and final days.

A social media user, Anas Ahmerd, said Adeshina was reportedly travelling to Lagos to visit his family before proceeding to his official posting after completing his training.

Beyond his military career, Adeshina was also remembered as a dedicated teacher who made a lasting impact on his students.

Before joining the Air Force, he taught at As-Siraat Comprehensive College, an Islamic school in the Amukoko area of Lagos, where he eventually became vice-principal.

The proprietor of the school, Ustadh Ahmad, told TheCable that Adeshina began as a physics teacher before rising to the position of vice-principal due to his diligence and commitment.

“He was the vice-principal of the school then. He was such a very intelligent and diligent man,” Ahmad said.

He said Adeshina worked at the school between 2004 and 2010, teaching physics and mathematics before joining the Nigerian Air Force.

According to Ahmad, Adeshina was highly respected by parents, with many appealing to the school to retain him when he decided to join the Air Force.

“He was so loved by the parents to the extent that when he wanted to leave the school for the Air Force programme, many parents pleaded that we should do everything to retain him.

“He was such a lovely guy. He is such an intelligent guy, very brilliant. So, I was not surprised to see him having promotions and all in the military. It’s so unfortunate,” he said.

Ahmad said Adeshina was from Iwo, Osun State, although his family was based in Lagos, with some relatives later relocating to their hometown.

“He still has a mother,” he added.

One of Adeshina’s former students, Lawal Kaothar, described him as one of the pillars of As-Siraat Comprehensive College.

In a Facebook tribute, Kaothar wrote, “Ya Rabbi, your slave Isa Muyiwa Adeshina has returned to you. Forgive his shortcomings, grant him your mercy and make him an inmate of Jannah. He was one of the foundations that built us in As-siraat Comprehensive College.”

Another former student, Ibrahim Damilola, described Adeshina’s life as deeply inspiring.

“Some people leave this world, but their words and lessons continue to live in the lives they touched,” Damilola wrote.

Damilola recalled Adeshina as one of his teachers during his junior secondary school years, saying the lessons he taught continued to influence him.

He particularly remembered how Adeshina shared personal experiences with his students while encouraging them to remain committed to their prayers.

“His story deeply inspired me, and from my Junior Secondary School days, it encouraged me to remain consistent with my own Salat. I will always be grateful for that lesson,” he wrote.

He prayed for Adeshina’s forgiveness and eternal rest.

Quadri said his support for the president was influenced by his personal experiences and the assistance Tinubu had extended to members of the entertainment industry over the years.

According to the actor, Tinubu’s relationship with entertainers predates his emergence as president, tracing back to his tenure as governor of Lagos State.

Speaking during an interview on the African A-List programme, Quadri recalled how Tinubu reportedly paid the medical expenses of late Nollywood actor Babatunde Omidina, popularly known as Baba Suwe, while he was battling an illness.

The actor maintained that Tinubu had consistently supported entertainers facing financial difficulties, making him a familiar figure within the industry.

Quadri said his decision to support the president was not driven by personal benefits but by his experiences of Tinubu’s assistance to practitioners in the entertainment sector.

He stated, “People do not understand it. It is not about what we want to eat. He has been taking care of those of us in the industry since he was the governor of Lagos.

“When Moji Olaiya died, I, Fathia Balogun, Yomi Fabiyi and others were trying to bring her back from abroad. We went to Bourdillon to seek financial support.

“He asked us for the cost and paid it. It was a total of $25,000. I know it is not enough, but I praise him.”

The company’s lawyer subsequently urged the court to quash the charges, maintaining that ALSCON was innocent of the allegations.
