“I Have Not Heard”: Oshiomhole Reacts To Claims Wike Is Working Against Tinubu.

Former Edo State Governor and Senator representing Edo North, Adams Oshiomhole, has dismissed reports suggesting that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, is opposed to President Bola Tinubu’s bid for re-election in 2027.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Oshiomhole spoke during an interview on TVC News’ Beyond The Headlines, where he addressed reported disagreements between Wike and some governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former governor also dismissed speculation about a possible political coalition against Tinubu, arguing that disagreements among political figures should not automatically be interpreted as evidence of a coordinated opposition.

“I have not heard any side of the argument suggesting that anyone, including the FCT Minister, that he is opposed to President Bola’s re-election,” Oshiomhole said.

According to him, Wike has consistently expressed his support for Tinubu despite belonging to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), rather than the APC.

“He has said so by himself repeatedly that he is not an APC person. He is not a member of APC, but he supports the President,” he stated.

Oshiomhole also cited Wike’s appointment as FCT Minister as an example of Tinubu’s willingness to work with politicians across party lines.

He described Wike as one of the PDP’s “best hands” and commended his role in overseeing development projects in the nation’s capital.

“We have also all congratulated PDP for lending to us what we consider to be one of the best hands in PDP, managing the FCT and driving the huge infrastructural changes that we are witnessing in the Federal Capital Territory,” he said.

The senator added that Wike’s appointment demonstrated Tinubu’s commitment to promoting national unity despite political differences.

“What better way to propose national unity than to have a President appointing somebody from an opposition party to manage the FCT as a minister?” Oshiomhole asked.

He said he would be concerned if there was credible evidence that Wike no longer supported Tinubu, but maintained that the FCT Minister had repeatedly affirmed his backing for the President.

Oshiomhole also noted that none of the APC governors had publicly declared that they would not support Tinubu’s re-election.

“Is there any coalition against the President? The answer is no. So I really don’t see the big issue,” he said.

The former governor argued that disagreements within political circles were normal, stressing that individuals could differ over strategies for achieving a common objective without necessarily opposing the objective itself.

“For me, my joy is that all the APC governors are committed to the re-election of President Bola Tinubu and the FCT Minister is obviously committed to the election of Bola Tinubu,” Oshiomhole said.

He urged the APC to concentrate on highlighting Tinubu’s achievements and explaining the economic reforms implemented by his administration instead of placing excessive emphasis on political disagreements.

Oshiomhole likened the economic situation inherited by the Tinubu administration to that of a critically ill patient, arguing that difficult measures were necessary to address the challenges.

“It’s like a patient who was almost already on stage four of cancer and you needed to apply chemotherapy of the strongest quality,” he said.

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has said no survivor has been found following the crash of a Nigerian Air Force aircraft in Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area of the state.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The governor disclosed this during an interview with Channels Television on Monday, saying residents, security personnel and emergency responders had searched the crash site without finding anyone alive.

Aiyedatiwa said he was informed about the incident at about 10:30am after the chairman of the local government contacted him.

According to him, residents living across the river from the Nigerian Navy base in Igbokoda heard a loud noise before seeing the aircraft plunge into a swampy area.

The governor explained that personnel of the Nigerian Navy initially approached the situation cautiously to determine whether the crash had triggered a fire or explosion before moving closer to the site.

“When they noticed that it’s just an accident, they didn’t see any sign of fire. So they moved in, trying to see if they could rescue the people,” Aiyedatiwa said.

He added that officials from the local emergency management agency, residents and members of the Amotekun Corps also joined the search operation in an effort to locate possible survivors.

“But from the information we got, no single life was saved up to this moment. They could not see any living soul that was in that aircraft,” the governor said.

Aiyedatiwa said rescuers recovered parts of the aircraft, including sections of the wings, identity cards and military uniforms, which helped confirm that the aircraft was operated by the military.

“But they saw the ruins, some of the wreckage from the wings of the aircraft, you know, some ID cards, I was told, and then uniform. That was when they knew it was a military aircraft,” he said.

The governor described the incident as a deeply painful tragedy, particularly because it occurred in his home state and local government area.

“It’s a sad situation today. And we’re all really, really agreed as a Nigerian. And also it happens in my own state, not just my state, even in my own local government where I’m from,” he said.

Aiyedatiwa expressed sympathy for the military personnel involved, noting that they were serving the country by protecting Nigeria’s territorial integrity.

“It happens to Nigerian military officers who are assigned to protect the territorial integrity of our country and, you know, involving such accidents. So painful. So painful, but so sad,” he added.

Ex-Obidient Coordinator, Yunusa Tanko Demands ₦5 Billion From Fellow Obi Supporter.

Former National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement and Political Adviser to New Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi, Yunusa Tanko, has demanded ₦5 billion in damages from a fellow Obi supporter, Nmaa Ukpabi, over alleged defamatory publications.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Tanko, through his lawyers, V-C Ottaokpukpu & Associates, Umuchukwu Chambers, issued the demand in connection with statements allegedly made by Ukpabi regarding the disputed NDC House of Assembly ticket for Kawo Constituency in Kaduna State.

In a pre-action notice dated September 9, 2026, the lawyers accused Ukpabi of making what they described as defamatory and injurious statements about Tanko across social media platforms and WhatsApp groups.

The dispute stems from controversy surrounding the NDC primary election for Kawo Constituency, where Tanko’s son, Yunusa Mohammed Salisu, was declared the party’s candidate despite another aspirant, Rakiya Baba Mohammed, reportedly being declared winner of the primary.

According to the legal notice, Ukpabi repeatedly published statements alleging that Tanko manipulated the primary election process to secure the party’s ticket for his son.

The lawyers alleged that Ukpabi referred to Tanko as a “mandate thief orchestrator” and accused him of replacing Rakiya’s name with that of his son.

They also quoted Ukpabi as allegedly describing Tanko as a disappointment to the Obidient Movement and accusing him of corruption and dishonesty.

One of the statements attributed to Ukpabi allegedly accused Tanko of teaching his son to become a “mandate thief,” while another alleged that he had successfully taken Rakiya’s mandate and facilitated the replacement of her name with that of his son.

Ukpabi also allegedly described Tanko’s son as a “mandate thief” and claimed that Tanko attempted to influence political figures to pressure Rakiya.

Tanko’s lawyers said the alleged statements were circulated across several WhatsApp groups, including the All Inclusive Obidient Movement-General, Obidient Movement Lagos State, OK-Movement Kaduna State, All-Inclusive Obidient National Coordinators and All-Inclusive Obidient Leaders in NDC Coalition.

They further alleged that the publications portrayed their client as “a thief, corrupt, fraudulent, wicked, shameless, deceitful, untrustworthy and duplicitous.”

The lawyers also accused Ukpabi of alleging that Tanko manipulated the primary election and ensured that Rakiya was denied her purported victory in favour of his son.

According to the pre-action notice, the alleged statements were also circulated through WhatsApp,
