  • Speaking anonymously to The Nation, the physician shared that Emir arrived at the facility on Sunday following an assault in Ile-Ife.

  • The medical source noted that parts of Emir’s brain were exposed and covered with a piece of cloth when he was brought in, before his gang members removed him from the hospital.

  • According to the doctor, the severity of the wounds suggested the assailants deliberately aimed for his head to ensure he would not survive, riddling him with bullets and causing massive trauma.

  • Emir, who was known as an ally of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, was ambushed on Sunday amid clashes over motor park control in Ile-Ife.

  • Following confirmation of the tragedy, Governor Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, stated that the governor has instructed the state’s Commissioner of Police to track down the perpetrators and launch a full-scale investigation.
