Weapons and Operations: Speaking on Tuesday in Maiduguri ahead of handing over command to Major General Ibikunle Ajose, Abubakar revealed that troops recovered more than 475 assorted weapons, 24,409 rounds of ammunition, and successfully discovered and detonated 295 IEDs.

Financial Disruptions and Surrenders: Security forces also intercepted over N300 million tied to terrorist financiers, arrested 758 logistics collaborators, and recorded the surrender of 969 JAS/ISWAP fighters and family members.

Rescues and Repatriation: Operations led to the rescue of 638 civilians, the return of over 7,000 displaced families to their ancestral lands, the reoccupation of abandoned communities, and the repatriation of over 3,000 Nigerians from Cameroon.

The Arrest: Adiele was arrested last Friday in Umuahia and immediately transported to Abuja following a petition from Hon. Chris Nkwonta, representing Ukwa East/Ukwa West Federal Constituency, who accused him of cyber-stalking, cyber-bullying, and defamation.

Intervention and Release: After four days of detention, Adiele was granted bail on Monday, September 14, 2026. His release was secured following the intervention of several prominent Abia politicians, including Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, Uzoma Abonta, and Sam Okezie Nwogu.

Adiele’s Confirmation: In a statement, Adiele confirmed his release after what he described as a “thorough investigation and interrogation” by FCID detectives, while also expressing gratitude to his party, the people of Ukwa, and activists for their support during his incarceration.
