PRESIDENCY SLAMS CRITICS: ‘Haters Will Never Admit Nigeria’s Massive Progress Under Tinubu!’

Published

on

Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga, has stated that only power mongers and individuals blinded by hate would refuse to acknowledge the administration’s economic achievements.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Onanuga’s response came via social media in reaction to a post by an X user, @finplanKaluAja1, who claimed that nothing has fundamentally changed in the country, pointing to rising revenues, higher expenses, ballooning deficits, and continued borrowing to service government obligations.

Onanuga Highlights Key Administration Milestones

Countering the claims, Onanuga listed several tangible developments and policy successes recorded under President Tinubu’s watch:

  • Educational Stability: Nigerian universities have not been crippled by strikes from the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) over the past three years.

  • Worker Welfare: State governors are now in a stronger financial position to pay their workers.

  • Student Support: Varsity students can now access loans for their tertiary education.

  • Infrastructure Development: The federal government is actively constructing two major superhighways connecting coastal states and linking Sokoto to Badagry.

  • Economic and Financial Growth: The economy has recorded trade surpluses, while the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has grown its foreign exchange reserves to a record $54 billion.

  • Global Financial Utility: Nigerians can now conveniently use their Naira cards for transactions when traveling abroad.

Addressing criticisms regarding national borrowing, Onanuga defended the administration’s fiscal strategy, explaining that deficit financing is not inherently unlawful as long as funds are not used to service routine salary payments. He added that even advanced economies like the United States continually borrow to pay government workers, carrying a national debt exceeding $40 trillion.

Responding through a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku clarified that he is not against poor children receiving an education. Instead, he criticized the practice of turning higher education into a debt trap after the government permits school fees to skyrocket.

Highlighting the plight of ordinary citizens, the statement painted a picture of a roadside food-selling widow whose daughter faces inflated tuition fees, forcing her to start adult life buried under loan repayments. Atiku maintained that true compassion lies in making education affordable again, restoring grants and scholarships, and ensuring that children can both enter school and graduate without being weighed down by heavy loan burdens.

The Ultimate Betrayal: Bishop Kawas Drops Bombshell, Claims Peter Obi Never Gave Him ‘One Naira’ Despite Campaign Support

Published

on

Archbishop Leonard Bature Kawas, a leader of the Charismatic Bishops, has clarified that his backing of Peter Obi during the 2023 presidential campaign was entirely devoid of any financial rewards. Speaking during an appearance on Arise TV’s Prime Time, Kawas addressed criticisms surrounding his political involvement and the backlash over the Charismatic Bishops’ recent endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Recalling his early support for Obi, Kawas stated that he travelled extensively across Nigeria with the candidate without receiving “one dollar, one naira”. He explained that Obi never inquired about his travel logistics or accommodation, noting that he personally covered the transportation expenses for six clergymen who accompanied him to various campaign stops just to offer prayers and support.

Defending his long-standing history of political engagement, Kawas hit back at critics labeling him a “fake bishop,” pointing out that he has previously campaigned for several prominent political figures:

  • Goodluck Jonathan: Kawas backed him starting from his days as Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, eventually serving as the sole bishop on his presidential campaign council and leading nationwide campaigns.

  • Olusegun Obasanjo: He travelled across the country to campaign after being invited to lead prayers for the realization of Obasanjo’s presidential ambitions.

  • Jolly Nyame: He campaigned for his leader in Taraba State, who later became governor and appointed him chairman of the Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board.

Kawas questioned why his current political choices are suddenly being used to delegitimize his status as a bishop, emphasizing that his record reflects a consistent pattern of political participation over the years.
