The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has clarified the reasons behind the absence of its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, at the recent G-100 opposition summit in Abuja. Abdullahi emphasized that Atiku’s physical presence was unnecessary because the party was robustly represented by key officials, including about four vice chairmen, ensuring the party fully engaged in the process. The summit, hosted on Monday at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, convened representatives from six major opposition parties to strategize on building a united front against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections. Alongside Atiku, other notable figures who skipped the meeting included Peter Obi, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, representatives of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
