THE ASO ROCK SUMMIT: Explosive Inside Details Emerge From President Tinubu’s High-Stakes Meeting With Uzodimma, Zulum, And Governors!

Published

on

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced a coordinated federal and state initiative to reduce domestic transportation expenses by expanding the adoption of electric vehicles and compressed natural gas (CNG). Following a meeting with the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) on Thursday, President Tinubu noted that the governors independently agreed to implement localized measures aimed at passing fuel savings onto citizens, emphasizing that state governments hold primary control over intra-state transit where transport costs are most acutely felt.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

To support this push, the Federal Government has converted over 120,000 vehicles through the Presidential CNG Initiative and is preparing more than 100,000 additional conversion kits, alongside plans to widen infrastructure by building a total of 1,000 CNG refuelling stations nationwide—backed by the Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund financing over 100 gas projects, including mother and daughter stations commissioned earlier in Lagos, Abuja, and Owerri. A joint Federal-State implementation committee will be formed immediately to coordinate these efforts, with the ultimate objective that starting October 1, the dramatic 60 to 80 percent fuel savings offered by CNG over petrol will translate into lower transport fares for the public.

ROYAL TRAGEDY: Norway Mourns As King Harald Passes Away At 89 In Stunning National Blow!.

on

Norway’s King Harald V has passed away at the age of 89 following a prolonged battle with health issues, making way for his son, Crown Prince Haakon, to ascend the throne. The Norwegian Royal Palace confirmed that the king died peacefully at 6:35 a.m. on Friday, August 28, at Oslo University Hospital. Flags at the Royal Palace were immediately lowered to half-mast as citizens gathered to leave flowers and mourn.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Harald had been hospitalized since August 17 due to haemolytic anaemia, a condition causing rapid red blood cell destruction. After his health worsened sharply on Thursday, Queen Sonja, Crown Prince Haakon, and close family members rushed to his bedside, with Haakon staying through the night. Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store also canceled a scheduled trip to Germany as the crisis unfolded.

Public tributes highlighted the late monarch’s unifying presence. Citizens remembered him as a warm, steady figure who championed social inclusion and stood as a pillar against growing political polarization. Having assumed the throne in 1991 after his father King Olav V’s passing, Harald was Europe’s oldest reigning monarch and consistently refused to abdicate, honoring the oath he took before parliament for life.

The royal family has navigated several recent challenges alongside the king’s failing health, including Queen Sonja’s brief hospitalization in May and Crown Prince Haakon’s wife, Mette-Marit, undergoing a lung transplant in July. Mette-Marit also faced scrutiny over past correspondence with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, while her son, Marius Borg Hoiby, was sentenced in June to four years in prison for multiple offenses.

THE AFROBEATS BLASPHEMY: Tekno Stuns Fans By Rejecting Fela Anikulapo-Kuti As The Genre’s Originator!.

Published

on

Nigerian singer Augustine Miles Kelechi, widely known as Tekno, has sparked debate during a New York interview with Hot 97 FM by contesting the long-standing belief that Fela Anikulapo-Kuti is the sole creator of Afrobeats.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

While acknowledging Fela as a legend who successfully took the genre international and inspired his own track “Rara,” Tekno argued that many pioneering musicians from eastern Nigeria—such as the late highlife icon Oliver De Coque—deserve equal credit for shaping the sound. He noted that because Fela extensively toured the world with his band, he received the lion’s share of historical recognition, whereas eastern legends who created timeless music remain largely unacknowledged today.

Expressing that highlife is part of the Afrobeats lineage, Tekno emphasized:

“Fela is not the originator of Afrobeats. Lagos people and the Yorubas might say he is the one, but I am from the East, and we had legends like Oliver De Coque. Oliver De Coque made pure highlife music. Highlife is also Afrobeats.”

Ultimately, the singer maintains that musical history should not overlook the diverse group of unsung legends across different regions who laid the foundation for the genre.
