THE ULTIMATE DEFIANCE: Activist VDM Refuses To Hand Over Evidence To Police, Dares Authorities To Go To Trial.
Social media activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has insisted that he will not turn over his evidence to the Nigeria Police Force, challenging the authorities to charge him to court instead.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The Police Invitation and Allegations
The police had summoned VDM to substantiate his explosive claims made during the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) conference, where he alleged that officers at highway checkpoints profile wealthy travelers and leak their details to kidnappers and bandits. While describing the accusations as serious and unsubstantiated, the Force stated it was ready to investigate any evidence provided. However, the activist rejected the request, questioning why he should supply evidence directly to the police that could be used against him, noting that his lawyers are fully prepared to present the proof only before a judge.
Refusal to Back Down and Welfare Concerns
Standing firm on his remarks, VDM accused personnel across various security formations—including the police, military, immigration, and customs—of benefiting from and fueling the nation’s persistent insecurity. He questioned security budgetary allocations and criticized Nigerians who rush to defend security agencies despite widespread misconduct.
Despite his heavy criticism, VDM acknowledged the harsh realities faced by law enforcement officers. He urged the Federal Government to significantly improve police welfare and provide adequate support, emphasizing that better care for personnel is essential to tightening national security.

Makinde Speaks On Tinubu’s Choice Of Adelabu As Minister
Meanwhile, Governor Makinde disclosed on Sunday that President Bola Tinubu had asked him to present Bayo Adelabu as his preferred choice for a ministerial appointment, despite the governor having initially nominated another candidate.
Speaking during a media chat on Fresh FM, Makinde said he declined the request because Tinubu had already made up his mind to appoint Adelabu.
According to the governor, Tinubu had initially asked him to recommend a development economist for the position overseeing budget and economic planning.
Makinde said he subsequently nominated Bimbo Adekanmbi, a former Commissioner for Finance under the administration of ex-Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
He explained that he recommended Adekanmbi because of his contributions to stabilising the state’s finances during the Ajimobi administration.
However, Makinde said Tinubu later informed him that he had decided to appoint Adelabu, who contested the Oyo State governorship election in 2019.

Quadri said his support for the president was influenced by his personal experiences and the assistance Tinubu had extended to members of the entertainment industry over the years.
According to the actor, Tinubu’s relationship with entertainers predates his emergence as president, tracing back to his tenure as governor of Lagos State.
Speaking during an interview on the African A-List programme, Quadri recalled how Tinubu reportedly paid the medical expenses of late Nollywood actor Babatunde Omidina, popularly known as Baba Suwe, while he was battling an illness.
The actor maintained that Tinubu had consistently supported entertainers facing financial difficulties, making him a familiar figure within the industry.
Quadri said his decision to support the president was not driven by personal benefits but by his experiences of Tinubu’s assistance to practitioners in the entertainment sector.
He stated, “People do not understand it. It is not about what we want to eat. He has been taking care of those of us in the industry since he was the governor of Lagos.
“When Moji Olaiya died, I, Fathia Balogun, Yomi Fabiyi and others were trying to bring her back from abroad. We went to Bourdillon to seek financial support.
“He asked us for the cost and paid it. It was a total of $25,000. I know it is not enough, but I praise him.”
