Key political parties and presidential contenders converged in Abuja on Tuesday at the International Conference Centre to participate in the signing of the inaugural National Peace Accord ahead of the upcoming 2027 general elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Representing President Bola Tinubu—the candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC)—were Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda. Meanwhile, Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer Peter Obi and African Action Congress (AAC) candidate Omoyele Sowore personally signed the agreement.

The ceremony, coordinated by the National Peace Committee, also welcomed national chairmen from various other political organizations. Participating parties included the Labour Party, Democratic Leadership Alliance, National Democratic Party, National Rescue Movement, Social Democratic Party, Youth Party, Young Progressives Party, and Zenith Labour Party, among others.

Citing specific instances of arson, vandalism, and physical assault, the APC condemned the hostility as a direct threat to public safety. The party urged Governor Adeleke to intervene immediately, demanding that he call his supporters to order and manage his electoral victory responsibly to prevent further escalation.
