Furthermore, the Force has officially barred non-state security organizations, including the Western Nigeria Security Network (Amotekun), vigilante groups, hunters, and neighborhood watch groups, from participating in any election-related security duties. These groups are prohibited from carrying weapons, guarding polling units, or escorting election materials, with the police stressing that this responsibility lies exclusively with constitutionally recognized agencies. The NPF has deployed a joint security operation involving the Police, DSS, NSCDC, NIS, NCS, and FRSC across all 30 local government areas to ensure a peaceful process. Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu has directed deployed personnel to remain impartial and professional while the Force urges the public to report any suspicious activities.
