Reacting through a statement shared on , the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, dismissed any financial impropriety. He alleged that the anti-graft body acted on instructions from former Governor Gboyega Oyetola to block the disbursement of worker palliatives.

“The real reason the commission froze the state account on the order of Gboyega Oyetola was to stop the payment of palliatives which the state government promised the workers some months ago,” the statement noted.

Despite the move, the administration confirmed it successfully disbursed the economic relief packages to all civil servants following constructive negotiations. Denying any misappropriation, the government characterized the investigation as a politically orchestrated effort.

“All material facts point to the fact that the commission is pursuing a hatchet job for the Osun APC by illegally freezing the state account and falsely accusing the government of looting ecological and other state funds,” the release stated, emphasizing that available revenues are channeled entirely toward infrastructure and workers’ welfare rather than plundered.

The government further claimed that anti-graft officials have subjected senior state personnel to continuous scrutiny since March 2026 without uncovering any evidence of malfeasance. It argued that proper legal avenues should have been pursued rather than imposing an unlawful financial freeze, dismissing the allegations as a baseless afterthought designed to cover up a misfired action.
