.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

  • Legal Perspective over Politics: The Labour Party (LP) has stated that debates regarding President Bola Tinubu’s educational qualifications should be evaluated through a legal framework rather than political feelings, noting that existing laws permit a candidate to submit a university degree without attaching prior certificates.

    • Previous Court Rulings: LP National Publicity Secretary Ken Asogwa recalled that similar challenges regarding the President’s academic records were thoroughly litigated and ultimately dismissed by the Supreme Court during the preceding election cycle.

    • Focus on Moral versus Legal Standards: While acknowledging that holding a university degree logically implies the completion of lower-tier schooling, Asogwa maintained that moral questions do not override statutory eligibility requirements for elective office.

    • Advice for the Opposition: The party spokesman cautioned opposition groups that obsessing over academic records is a futile distraction, urging them instead to focus on winning voter confidence and safeguarding the credibility of the upcoming electoral process.
