Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Wednesday, Akande—who served under former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo—argued that the police’s failure to offer a comprehensive account of the operation has fueled public mistrust and speculation.
The Osun State Police Command had previously detained Igbalaye during an operation in Osogbo connected to an alleged vote-buying investigation.
