Barcelona have officially secured the signature of German forward Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund. The 23-year-old attacker has signed a long-term deal that ties him to the Catalan giants until 2031.

The club announced the successful agreement earlier today, July 23, bringing the Munich-born forward to Camp Nou. Adeyemi—who was born on January 18, 2002, to a Nigerian father and a Romanian mother—is celebrated for his blistering pace, strong left foot, and versatility to operate across any position in the attacking line, whether on the flanks or centrally.

This transfer brings Adeyemi back under the management of Hansi Flick, the coach who previously handed him his first senior international appearance for Germany during his days at Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg.

Having spent four seasons with Borussia Dortmund, Adeyemi brings valuable experience from both the Bundesliga and the UEFA Champions League. Across his career, he has amassed 48 appearances in Europe’s top club competition—37 for Dortmund and 11 for Salzburg—which includes two matches played against Barcelona in the previous Champions League campaign.

In their official club statement, Barcelona noted: “FC Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement for the transfer of forward Karim Adeyemi, who has signed a contract with the Catalans until 2031.”

The statement further highlighted: “Now reunited with Flick once again, Adeyemi arrives at a club where he can continue to develop and improve on a daily basis. He joins Barcelona eager to prove himself and fully committed to helping his compatriot’s side.”

Although Adeyemi played a role in Germany’s successful qualifying run for the World Cup, he ultimately was not selected for the tournament finals.
