Safety Concerns: ALGON Vice Chairman, Lanre Balogun, noted that public motor parks had increasingly become unsafe for commuters and operators, turning into hideouts for criminals.

Immediate Directive: Effective immediately, all transport unions—including motorcycle and tricycle operators—are prohibited from activities in public motor parks across the state’s 30 local government areas and the Ife East Area Office in Modakeke.

Security Measures: ALGON has requested that security agencies take control of these facilities to restore peace and track down individuals involved in the violence, specifically calling for the arrest of NURTW factional leader Nurudeen Alowonle.

Legal Basis: Balogun explained that the decision is supported by the 1999 Constitution (as amended), which grants local governments the authority to regulate motor parks and maintain public order.
