Location: The arrest occurred between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. at a building in the Ijebu-Ijesa area of Osun State.

Legal Basis: The arrest was prompted by a bench warrant issued by a Federal High Court in Abuja following his failure to appear for an eight-count arraignment.

The Department of State Services (DSS) had previously tracked Adeyemi to Ibadan, but he evaded capture by frequently turning off his phone.

After the DSS withdrew from the case, the Intelligence Response Team took over the investigation.

While in Osun State for surveillance duties regarding the upcoming August 15 governorship election, the team identified Adeyemi’s location in the Aregbe-Fakule area of Osogbo on July 9.

Following intensified efforts after his location was traced to Ilesa late Monday, the team successfully apprehended him on Tuesday morning.

Operational Secrecy: The team operated from the area commander’s office in Oke-Fia, Osogbo, and did not notify the Osun State Commissioner of Police until they were executing the arrest.
