Witness Alleges Diversion Of ₦1.8 Billion
During an earlier sitting on Monday, Taiwo Johns, an official from the Taraba State Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, testified that ₦1.8 billion, purportedly for Christmas grains, was channeled through his company’s bank account. Johns stated that the funds were paid into the account of P3 Cornerstone International Nigeria Limited on the instructions of his superior at the time, Bello Yero. According to the witness, the money was transferred from Gassol Local Government Area’s account to his company in 69 separate transactions.
Continuing his testimony on Tuesday, Johns revealed that several local government areas transferred money to his company’s account for the purchase and distribution of Christmas grains. He listed Donga, Zing, Gassol, and Yorro among the local government areas that allegedly made payments in July 2019. The witness recounted a ₦3 million payment received from Yorro Local Government Area on July 22, 2019, which was withdrawn and handed over to Yero, who then took the money to the Government House.
Johns further detailed other transactions involving his company’s account, telling the court: “On July 24, 2019, Blessed Springs Modern Communication credited my account with ₦4.4 million. On that day, I reported to my superior, Babangida Hassan, the director of finance. On the same date, he gave an instruction on the account the money would be transferred to, which he said was a directive from above.” The witness also mentioned two additional transfers of ₦10 million each made into the P3 Cornerstone account on the same day, adding that he reported these transactions to his boss. He explained that the ₦10 million payments were made by Henrietta Meepatan, and he subsequently withdrew ₦6 million, ₦5 million, and ₦1 million. The prosecution is set to continue presenting evidence when the trial resumes in October.

2027 Power Shift? INEC Clears Atiku And 470 ADC Candidates For Massive Electoral Battle!.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed it will only accept candidates submitted by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) leadership faction headed by Senator David Mark for the 2027 general elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
-
Recognition and Nominations: INEC National Commissioner Mohammed Haruna stated that the commission granted the Mark-led faction access to its nomination portal following a Supreme Court judgment that affirmed their authority. Consequently, this faction has successfully submitted candidates for 471 positions, including the presidency, 109 senatorial districts, and 360 House of Representatives constituencies.
-
Rejection of Rival Claims: The commission clarified that a rival faction led by Nafiu Gombe has no legal basis to submit candidates, noting that its appeal for recognition had failed.
-
Allegations of Forgery: The ADC has officially accused Nafiu Gombe of circulating forged documents that falsely claimed he had accessed INEC’s secure portal to upload candidates. The party is now calling for law enforcement to investigate and prosecute Gombe and his associates for attempting to mislead the public.
-
Appellate Court Ruling: While the Court of Appeal recently upheld a lower court ruling that restrained INEC from recognizing state congresses conducted by the Mark-led caretaker leadership, the ADC insists this decision does not impact the presidential or National Assembly nominations. The party maintains that those primaries remain valid and separate from the ongoing dispute over ward, local government, and state-level congresses.
-
INEC’s Stance: INEC indicated it will not take a formal position on the recent Court of Appeal judgment until it has obtained and thoroughly reviewed the Certified True Copy of the ruling, which is expected within 48 hours.

On Tuesday, the Nigeria Police Force apprehended Adeniyi Adeyemi, the self-proclaimed Director-General of the unrecognized Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), in Osun State. -
During the court session, Adeyemi’s counsel, Genesis Francis, argued against the bench warrant, claiming his client feared for his life due to alleged threats and desired to remain alive to defend himself.
-
Justice Umar dismissed these concerns, stating, “The court will help him be alive,” and subsequently granted the prosecution’s request for an arrest warrant.
-
The court has adjourned the case until September 30, 2026, for arraignment.
-
Following the court order, a police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) led by CSP Moses Lohor tracked and arrested Adeyemi.
-
Security sources noted that Adeyemi had been monitored for over a week by the Department of State Services (DSS) before the police IRT took over the operation.
-
Following his capture on Tuesday morning, Adeyemi was transported to Ibadan and then to Abuja.
Background on the Allegations
-
The police filed the eight-count charge against Adeyemi and two other suspects, Femi and Anu, on November 27, 2025.
-
The two other suspects remain at large.
-
The Presidency has consistently maintained that the PFIPC was never established by the Federal Government, accusing Adeyemi of forging official documents and appointment letters to falsely claim leadership of a government agency.
-
Despite these accusations, Adeyemi has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing and insists the council is legitimate.
