In response to these allegations, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has called for Obi to pay a ₦25,000 fine and publicly apologize to airport staff, stating that an internal investigation confirmed the vehicle was improperly parked. Keyamo provided details from CCTV footage of the July 4, 2026, incident at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, noting the following:

• Obi arrived at the domestic terminal at approximately 8:28 p.m. in a vehicle driven by a police officer.

• After dropping off the passengers, the driver parked the vehicle in a restricted drop-off zone and left it unattended to enter the terminal, which violates airport regulations.
