PETER OBI IN DANGER? Major Political Parties Unite In Explosive Warning To Federal Government!.
A coalition comprising the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), the Obidient Movement Worldwide, and a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the Federal Government of persecuting opposition leaders. They declared that the administration would be held directly accountable should any harm befall former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
This joint warning follows recent comments from Obi, who stated during an interview with Chude Jideonwo that the government’s deliberate frustration and intimidation of his activities have created a situation where he may not survive to participate in the 2027 presidential election.
Reacting to these concerns, the NDC, through its National Publicity Secretary, Abdulmumin Abdulsalam, expressed grave alarm and accused the current administration of failing to provide Obi with the adequate security protection befitting a major presidential candidate. Abdulsalam contrasted this with the security details provided to past political figures, such as when Muhammadu Buhari was attacked during the presidential campaign and was subsequently provided with robust security, including a bulletproof jeep, by the Jonathan administration. The NDC further cited an alleged attack on Obi’s convoy in Edo State, where his vehicles were reportedly shot at, as evidence of clear threats against his life.
The National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement Worldwide, Yunusa Tanko, reinforced these concerns, stating that Obi’s statement reflects the broader challenges faced by the movement. Tanko alleged that Obi has been actively blocked from delivering lectures at several Nigerian universities, including institutions in Bauchi, Zaria, Calabar, and Ife, as part of a systematic effort to prevent him from engaging with the youth.
Echoing this sentiment, Ini Ememobong, National Publicity Secretary of a PDP faction, accused the ruling party of targeting opposition figures on multiple fronts—political, social, and economic—and asserted that these actions are a sign of paranoia within the ruling party.

-
Human Trafficking Crisis: Akande-Sadipe underscored that human trafficking remains a severe violation of human rights, with many Nigerians—particularly women and youths—continuing to endure sexual exploitation, forced labor, and modern slavery across the region.
Allegations Against Embassy Officials
The meeting also served as a forum for serious accusations regarding the conduct of officials at the Nigerian Embassy in Mali:
-
Lack of Transparency: The National Council of Child Rights Advocates, Nigeria, presented findings from an 11-month fact-finding mission alleging that embassy officials have shown a lack of transparency in repatriation efforts.
-
Financial Irregularities: Adefioye Simeon, representing the Council, alleged that private individuals paid officials approximately 200,000 CFA francs per victim to facilitate transportation back to Nigeria, with no clear accounting for how these funds were used.
-
Documentation Issues: Further allegations suggest that officials issued identification cards for fees ranging from 10,000 to 15,000 CFA francs, only for those documents to be rejected at border checkpoints.
In response to these claims, the Council has urged the House committee to launch a formal investigation and to improve coordination between NAPTIP, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and relevant security and civil society organizations.
