• Promoting Administration Achievements: Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Enlightenment, noted that the initiative aims to keep influencers informed about the Tinubu administration’s accomplishments so they can better educate the public.

• Combating Misinformation: Held in Kano on Sunday, the workshop was designed to provide participants with tools to identify and counter harmful content, including AI-generated images, deceptive videos, and clips intended to spread misinformation or incite disaffection.

• Fostering Responsible Engagement: The training seeks to address the “recklessness” currently seen on social media by encouraging a more effective and informed approach to information dissemination.

Emphasis on Democratic Participation

Abdulaziz highlighted that the government respects the democratic right of individuals to express opinions and participate in organizations. However, he emphasized the importance of ensuring the public is accurately informed about government actions to counter the negative impacts of social media misuse. The training also focused on promoting issues that strengthen national unity.
