During his address, Onyedebelu emphasized unity as the party’s primary tool for success. He outlined a clear expectation of accountability for all party officials:

  • Party leaders will be held directly responsible for the electoral performance within their respective jurisdictions.

  • Officials were urged to proactively identify and report any potential challenges or individuals that might sabotage the party’s efforts before the election occurs.

  • The chairman stressed that victory must be secured through genuine grassroots mobilization and real votes, rather than seeking shortcuts.

Warning Against Anti-Party Activities

Onyedebelu issued a stern caution to members regarding anti-party activities, noting that those who undermine their own party should not expect to benefit from the opposition. He explained that if the opposition wins, they will prioritize rewarding their own loyal members before considering anyone who worked against their own party. Furthermore, he identified the 2027 cycle as a crucial milestone for the Owerri Zone, particularly regarding its ambition to produce the next Governor of Imo State.

Party Mobilization

The meeting, organized by the State Working Committee, was described by State Secretary Onyekachi Ibezim as a vital opportunity to engage with grassroots leadership, whom he labeled the “engine room” of the party. In response to the committee, Justus Ogu, the APC State Vice Chairman for the Owerri Zone, pledged that the zone would remain loyal and deliver comprehensive victories for all APC candidates, ranging from the presidential level to the state House of Assembly.

Show Us The Money! Atiku Demands Full List Of ₦501 Billion Power Bond Beneficiaries In Massive Transparency War!.

Published

on

Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Atiku Abubakar, has called on the federal government to publicly disclose the beneficiaries of the ₦501 billion bond issued to clear debts owed to electricity generation companies (GenCos). This demand follows reports from the Association of Power Generation Companies (APGC) that the bond funds have not been fully disbursed, despite earlier government assurances.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a statement released by his special assistant on public communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku referenced the recent disclosure by APGC CEO, Dr. Joy Ogaji, that the federal government still owes GenCos approximately ₦6.5 trillion. Atiku described Ogaji’s comment—liking the token payments to “rubbing oil on a crying child’s mouth to imply that he had eaten”—as a perfect reflection of the current administration’s approach: “grand announcements, impressive figures, glossy headlines, and very little substance.

Atiku characterized the situation as a “crisis of credibility,” questioning why the public is repeatedly asked to celebrate fresh borrowing to resolve problems the government claims it already solved. He challenged the administration to publish a detailed breakdown of all payments made under the ₦501 billion bond, including:

  • The names of all GenCos that received payments.

  • The specific amounts paid to each beneficiary.

  • The dates of these transactions.

  • The outstanding balances still owed.

Furthermore, the former vice-president accused the Tinubu administration of relying on “ceremonies” and “headlines” of borrowing rather than addressing the root issues in the power sector. He called for a comprehensive public audit of all power sector intervention funds by oversight bodies, including the National Assembly and the Auditor-General of the Federation.

“Nigerians deserve to know precisely how much has been borrowed, how much has been disbursed, who received the money, and why the debts continue to rise despite repeated claims of settlement,” Atiku stated, emphasizing that public money cannot “disappear into official press statements.
