Detection: The operation began at approximately 3:45 p.m. on June 24, when soldiers from the 135 Special Forces Battalion stationed at Echo 1, Dutse Kura, identified the terrorists using Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) surveillance.

Engagement: A Quick Response Force was immediately deployed, leading to a gun battle as troops pursued the insurgents toward the Mangari–Dora area, forcing the terrorists to abandon their position.

Successful Rescue: A total of 53 civilians—comprising 20 men, 28 women, and five children—were rescued, and troops recovered eight vehicles left behind by the fleeing insurgents.

Outcome: Following the engagement, soldiers conducted clearance operations for 10 kilometres along the insurgents’ withdrawal route to ensure the highway was safe for transit.

Safety: The rescued civilians and their vehicles were safely escorted to Buratai to continue their journeys, with military sources reporting no casualties or equipment losses during the operation.
According to military reports, this success highlights the ongoing commitment of Operation HADIN KAI to protect major highways and curb terrorist movement in the North-East.
