-
Olajide Adeyeye: A two-term former member of the Osun State House of Assembly representing Ife East State Constituency, who resigned after “thorough consideration”.
These departures continue a recent trend involving other Omisore allies, such as Lekan Oyediran, Aleem Bakare, Folorunso Oladoyin, Jamiu Olawumi, Taiwo Akeju, and Sunday Ojo-Williams.
APC Response: Party Remains Resilient
The Osun APC leadership has dismissed concerns that these resignations will weaken the party or negatively impact the gubernatorial bid of Bola Oyebamiji in the upcoming August 15 election.
-
Political Calculations: Kola Olabisi, the party’s Director of Media and Information, characterized the resignations as expected behavior typical of election seasons, stating that the departures remove potential “clogs” to Oyebamiji’s victory.
-
Strength in Structure: APC chieftain Olatunbosun Oyintiloye emphasized that the party is “bigger than any individual or group” and maintains a resilient structure and loyal membership base.

Leadership War Explodes: Turaki Faction Decries INEC’s Decision To Recognize Wike’s Group!.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is currently embroiled in a tense standoff between two factions following the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) decision to issue the party’s candidate nomination upload code to the leadership faction backed by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. The upload code is a mandatory requirement for submitting party candidates for the upcoming 2027 general elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Wike-Backed Faction Claims Legitimacy
The National Publicity Secretary for the Wike-backed faction, Jungudo Mohammed, stated that INEC’s decision to provide the access code to the National Working Committee (NWC) led by Abdulrahman Mohammed confirms their status as the party’s only legally recognized structure.
-
Mohammed asserted that INEC’s action serves as official recognition from the electoral umpire.
-
He dismissed the opposing Tanimu Turaki-led faction as “noisemakers” whose actions have not hindered the operations of his NWC.
-
Regarding the party’s candidate list, Mohammed explained that it would be released publicly only after the internal appeal process is concluded, aiming to ensure adherence to party policy and electoral guidelines.
Turaki Faction Maintains Stance
In response, Ini Ememobong, the spokesperson for the Tanimu Turaki (SAN) faction, argued that INEC’s recognition of the rival NWC is purely administrative.
-
Ememobong remained confident, stating that the faction is focused on a long-term political strategy rather than immediate recognition.
-
He cited past instances where candidates initially unrecognized by INEC were eventually uploaded to the portal, suggesting that the current lack of an access code is not a permanent setback.
-
The spokesperson emphasized that many aspirants have continued to purchase forms from their faction, trusting that they will eventually be recognized as the party’s official candidates.
Background of the Dispute
The ongoing internal crisis originated from a 3–2 Supreme Court ruling on April 30, which invalidated the PDP national convention held in Ibadan last November.
-
That convention had originally produced the leadership now headed by Turaki, who was later reappointed by the Board of Trustees to lead an Interim National Working Committee.
-
Since the court ruling, both factions have operated in parallel, with both groups issuing their own expression-of-interest and nomination forms to party aspirants.
-
While the Wike-backed leadership has had its activities and primaries monitored by INEC, the Turaki faction has proceeded with its own processes despite lacking official recognition from the commission.

“De-register Them Now!”: ADA Official Launches Aggressive Legal Battle Against NDC And INEC!.
Ahidjo Karlahi, the protem Director of Organisation for the All Democratic Alliance (ADA), has initiated a lawsuit at the Federal High Court in Abuja, challenging the registration of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The case, filed last Tuesday and registered as FHC/ABJ/CS/1115/2026, is currently before Justice Mohammed Umar, with both INEC and the NDC named as defendants.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Karlahi contends that the NDC failed to comply with the constitutional and statutory requirements necessary for registration as a political party. His arguments include:
-
Absence from Prequalification: The NDC was reportedly not listed among the prequalified associations during the 2025 political party registration exercise.
-
Failure to Fulfill Financial/Administrative Obligations: He alleges the party did not pay the mandatory ₦2,000,000.00 administrative fee nor did it receive access codes for the INEC Application Portal.
-
Non-compliance with Portal Procedures: Karlahi claims the NDC failed to access the dedicated portal to complete the mandatory Form EC15A, which he describes as the only valid method for formal registration.
Requested Court Orders
The plaintiff is asking the court to nullify the NDC’s registration and halt its recognition by INEC. Specifically, he seeks:
-
A declaration that the NDC’s current recognition is unconstitutional, illegal, and void.
-
An order compelling INEC to remove the NDC from its official register of political parties and cease all dealings with the group as a registered party.
-
A permanent restraint preventing the NDC from participating in any electoral activities.
Context and Stance
This legal action follows recent comments from the NDC’s national leader and founder, Senator Seriake Dickson, who maintained at the party’s maiden national convention that there is no pending litigation challenging the party’s legal status.
In response to the lawsuit, Karlahi clarified that he is acting in a personal capacity as a citizen—not on behalf of the ADA—to promote electoral integrity and constitutionalism. He emphasized that his motives are not partisan, urging the public and the judiciary to view the case as a crucial test for the nation’s constitutional order.
