Total Meltdown: Wike’s Camp Draws Battle Lines In Dramatic Legal Ultimatum To Turaki’s Faction.

Published

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is weighing potential legal action against the faction led by Tanimu Turaki, accusing them of illegitimately claiming party leadership despite adverse court rulings.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

According to National Publicity Secretary Jungudo Mohammed, the party has already petitioned security agencies to intervene in the ongoing dispute, noting that they are awaiting further advice from their legal department on whether to pursue additional litigation. Mohammed stated that as a law-abiding organization, the party is looking to authorities to resolve the matter and has alleged that the Turaki faction is deliberately spreading misinformation.

The tension stems from a Supreme Court decision on April 30, which nullified the PDP’s November national convention in Ibadan—the event that originally empowered the Turaki-led leadership. While the Board of Trustees, under Adolphus Wabara, subsequently restructured that group into an interim committee, they remain in direct opposition to the INEC-recognized leadership supported by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

In response, Ini Ememobong, the spokesperson for the Turaki-led interim committee, dismissed the party’s petitions as an attempt to turn a strictly legal dispute into a security issue. Ememobong defended his faction’s legitimacy, asserting that their operations align with the party’s constitution, Nigerian law, and existing court judgments. He further warned that those filing petitions against them could face legal repercussions, insisting that their leadership remains valid and fully active.
