“Death Wish on Wheels: LASTMA Fires Urgent Warning As Reckless Youths Take Rolling Skates To Lagos Highways!”

Published

on

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has cautioned children, teenagers, and young adults against using rolling skate shoes, wheeled footwear, and similar recreational items on public roads and highways.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In an official statement, LASTMA highlighted that the growing trend of skating alongside moving vehicles or crossing busy roads without proper gear or adult supervision poses severe, life-threatening risks. Because public highways mix cars, motorcycles, and pedestrians simultaneously, traffic conditions are unpredictable, making it difficult for skaters to react to sudden vehicle movements.

Key takeaways from the warning include:

  • Appeal to Guardians: LASTMA urged parents, schools, and caregivers to stop children from using rolling skate shoes on expressways, bridges, service lanes, and high-traffic areas.

  • Safe Zones Only: Users are advised to limit skating to designated recreational parks, private compounds, and safe spaces while wearing full protective gear like helmets, knee pads, and elbow pads.

  • Call to Motorists: Drivers have been asked to exercise extra caution around residential areas, school zones, and estates where children might unexpectedly enter the road with wheeled footwear.

  • Public Vigilance: LASTMA encouraged citizens to report dangerous traffic situations, accidents, or road obstructions using its toll-free short code for quick response.

Emphasizing that safety is a collective duty, LASTMA’s General Manager, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, stressed that preserving human life must always take precedence over recreational activities.

Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, a chieftain of the Accord Party, has stated that Peter Obi (Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate) and Atiku Abubakar (African Democratic Congress presidential candidate) belong to the “extreme conservative political wing.”....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking as a guest on the Mic On Podcast, Olawepo-Hashim discussed the ideological differences dividing opposition presidential candidates. He contrasted conservative figures with candidates who share a left-centre, welfaristic orientation—such as Omoyele Sowore of the African Action Congress (AAC) and Adewole Adebayo of the Social Democratic Party (SDP)—whom he described as more compassionate and sympathetic to the common people.

Highlighting the ideological divergence, Olawepo-Hashim pointed to contrasting stances on economic policies like petrol pricing and subsidy removal, noting that opposition candidates should not be lumped together simply because they oppose the ruling party.

“There are opposition members who are from the extreme conservative political wing. Peter and Atiku belong to that… Sowore, Adebayo and I belong to [the left-centre], so we shouldn’t be lumped together,” he explained.

When further probed during the interview, the Accord chieftain was asked if his ideological alignment pointed toward a formal alliance with Sowore and Adebayo.

“Keep Your Gunpowder Dry! Keyamo Mocks Critics, Declares APC By-Election Wins A Sign Of Things To Come”

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has shared his perspective on the legislative by-elections held on Saturday across Gombe, Kano, Bauchi, and Delta states.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The elections covered one federal constituency and four state constituencies. Official results show that the All Progressives Congress (APC) swept four of the seats, while the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) secured one state constituency victory in Bauchi State.

Reacting via social media, Keyamo noted that the APC’s dominant performance across the North-West, North-East, and South-South regions serves as a critical indicator for the upcoming 2027 general elections. He also pointed out the constitutional rule requiring a presidential winner to secure at least 25% of the votes in two-thirds of all states and the FCT, emphasizing how these regional victories tie into Nigeria’s diverse political landscape.

Withholding a complete breakdown for a later date, Keyamo concluded with a bold statement regarding President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s political future:

“Let me keep our gunpowder dry for now. A fuller analysis of this significant factor in Presidential elections will follow on January 19th or 20th, 2027, when PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU is declared winner… and the usual wailings begin. Please, bookmark this tweet. No be cho cho cho!!”
