Justice Crack Released From DSS Custody After Days Of Detention.

reports that his release was confirmed on Thursday night by activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, in a post on .
Sowore described the detention of Chidiebere as unjust and unlawful, announcing that the activist had finally regained his freedom.
In his post, Sowore wrote: “Justice Crack is out now. He is finally free from the unjust detention imposed by the lawless Department of State Services (DSS).
“This victory belongs to all who spoke out, resisted intimidation, and demanded justice.”
Sowore had earlier alleged that efforts were being made by the DSS to delay Chidiebere’s release despite him meeting most of his bail conditions.
He also accused the agency of withholding the activist’s international passport, which he said was delaying the final process of securing his freedom.
Chidiebere is facing prosecution by the DSS over alleged cybercrime offences linked to a viral video involving the Nigerian Army.
The Federal High Court in Abuja had earlier granted him bail on May 18, 2026, in the sum of ₦5 million, with one surety in a like sum.
Justice Joyce Abdulmalik, while delivering the ruling, ordered that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and have a verifiable residential address for at least four years.
The court further required the surety to provide valid proof of residence, including tenancy documents or a certificate of occupancy, to be deposited with the court registry.
In addition, the surety must be a federal civil servant not below Grade Level 15, with evidence of salary payments, official identification, and a letter of confirmation from a departmental head.
