Matawalle Meets 85 Zamfara APC Aspirants Not Cleared For Primaries.

The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has met with 85 All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Assembly aspirants from Zamfara State who were not cleared during the party’s screening exercise.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The meeting took place at Matawalle’s residence in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, and is part of ongoing reconciliation efforts within the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Matawalle urged the affected aspirants to remain calm, united, and committed to the party’s progress despite their exclusion from the screening process.

He assured them that their grievances were being addressed and that appropriate steps were underway to review complaints raised by aggrieved members.

According to him, the APC remains committed to fairness, justice, and equal opportunity for all members.

He further disclosed that the party’s National Working Committee was already reviewing petitions submitted by dissatisfied aspirants, urging them to exercise patience while due process is followed.

Matawalle cautioned that internal disagreements should not be allowed to weaken the party, especially as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify. He stressed that unity among members was essential for electoral success.

The aspirants, led by Sulaiman Shu’aibu Shinkafi, expressed appreciation to the minister for the engagement, describing it as a strong gesture of leadership and commitment to peace within the party.

They also commended his efforts to promote unity and reconciliation among APC members in the state.

In response, Matawalle praised the aspirants for their discipline and willingness to remain in the party despite their disappointment, saying their conduct reflected loyalty and maturity.

He added that their decision to support the APC despite setbacks showed they placed party interests above personal ambition.

The minister also briefed attendees on the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to address insecurity across the country, particularly insurgency in the North-East and banditry in the North-West.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to restoring peace and stability in affected regions.

The meeting was part of broader consultations aimed at strengthening unity and internal cohesion within the APC in Zamfara State.

Also present at the meeting were former Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Mukhtar Ahmad Anka; former Speakers of the State House of Assembly, Bature Umar Sambo and Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya; the APC State Secretary, Ibrahim Maigandi; the APC Auditor, Yusuf Idris Gusau, alongside other party stakeholders.
