The governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Lagos State, Laja Adeoye, has called for improved leadership, fresh ideas, and a new governance approach for residents of the state.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

He made this known on Wednesday during the official declaration of his governorship ambition at Ward F5, Ejigbo, in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area of Lagos State.

Adeoye, a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant, said Lagosians have been under a similar governance pattern for years and are now demanding meaningful change ahead of the 2027 elections.

He argued that the state requires a governor who understands the daily struggles of citizens and is committed to running a transparent and people-focused administration.

According to him, “Lagos residents are tired. They have seen the same style of governance since 1999 and are now calling for something new. They want fresh ideas, fresh leadership and a fresh direction.”

He added that his ambition is driven by a desire to offer responsible leadership that prioritises the welfare of residents and improves their standard of living.

Adeoye said his administration, if elected, would focus on policies that directly address the needs of the people while ensuring accountability in governance.

He also expressed satisfaction with the turnout of supporters and political stakeholders from both PDP and APM during his declaration, describing it as a sign of acceptance within the community.

According to him, his decision to contest is not just a personal ambition but a response to growing calls for alternative leadership in Lagos State.

Adeoye, who previously aligned with a PDP faction supported by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde before joining APM, said internal disputes within the PDP led to the emergence of the coalition under APM.

He alleged that the coalition was formed to provide a stronger opposition platform capable of offering Lagos residents a credible alternative in 2027.

He further stated that all aspirants aligned with the Makinde-backed PDP faction would now contest under the APM platform in the upcoming elections.

Describing the 2027 governorship race as winnable, Adeoye urged coalition members to remain united and committed to grassroots mobilisation.

He said defeating the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos would require collective effort and sustained engagement with voters across the state.

Adeoye also unveiled his manifesto titled “Atunto Eko 1.0,” describing it as a blueprint for inclusive development and people-centred governance.

He said the document reflects his vision for a Lagos that delivers equal opportunities and improved living conditions for all residents.

He called on supporters and political stakeholders to stay focused, stressing that the 2027 election presents an opportunity for Lagosians to embrace new leadership and a different direction in governance.
