Sule defeated his only challenger, former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State and ex-Director-General of the National Directorate of Employment, Silas Ali Agara.
The results were announced in Akwanga, the headquarters of the senatorial district.
Declaring the outcome, the Chairman of the Nasarawa State APC National Assembly Primary Elections Committee, Musa Shuaibu Guri, said Sule polled a total of 45,393 votes.
His opponent, Silas Ali Agara, secured 2,915 votes in the contest.
Guri confirmed that the governor met all requirements outlined in the APC constitution and electoral guidelines.
He subsequently declared Sule the winner of the primary and officially returned him as the party’s candidate for Nasarawa North Senatorial District.
“Abdullahi Sule, having satisfied the requirements of the APC constitution and guidelines and scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared winner of the primary election and returned elected as the party’s senatorial candidate for Nasarawa North Senatorial District,” Guri stated.
