Senator representing Gombe Central Senatorial District, Muhammad Danjuma Goje, has dismissed the results of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary election in the district as fake.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Reports indicate that the Returning Officer of the election, Habu Dahiru, declared Mohammed Ahmed winner of the contest and the party’s flagbearer for the 2027 general elections after he reportedly polled 42,785 votes, while Senator Goje scored 10,425 votes.

However, in a statement issued through his Special Assistant, Ahmed Isa Kashere, Goje insisted that the primary election in Akko and Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Areas is yet to be concluded and officially announced.

He urged party members, constituents, and the general public to disregard what he described as fake results being circulated, stressing that the authentic outcome had not been released.

The statement noted that some media platforms and social media pages had allegedly published fabricated results purporting to represent the outcome of the election.

It further explained that, according to APC guidelines, the official results would be announced in Abuja by the party’s national leadership.

Goje maintained that he remains committed to due process as a respected lawmaker and elder statesman, adding that he will continue to abide by the party’s rules and regulations pending the official declaration of results.

A chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has expressed optimism about clinching the party’s vice-presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

News reports that Kwankwaso made the remarks during an interview on Premier Radio over the weekend.

The former Kano State governor said securing the position would be a major step toward positioning Kano State for the presidency in the future.

According to him, “By God’s grace, the next election will be unlike anything that has ever happened in our state and country, especially if I secure the ticket and my name is on the ballot.”

He lamented that Kano has never produced a vice president since the First Republic, describing the situation as disappointing, but expressed confidence that it would change.

“Kano State will rightfully secure this position, which will open the door for our state to eventually produce the president of this country,” he said.

Kwankwaso also urged political actors in the North-West to be strategic ahead of the elections, warning that poor decisions could have long-term consequences.

He added that some southerners were already aligning with his party, stressing the need for the North-West to act wisely in its political choices.

Ex-Lawmaker Backs Desmond Elliot’s Fourth-Term Ambition, Sparks Fresh Political Debate.

Former lawmaker Kabiru Lawal has thrown his support behind Desmond Elliot’s bid for a fourth term in the Lagos State House of Assembly, representing Surulere 1 Constituency.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Lawal described Elliot’s leadership style as sincere, transparent, and impactful, saying his performance has benefited the constituency.

He noted that although he once lost the party ticket to Elliot, the decision has since been justified by the lawmaker’s track record.

“People say the ticket was taken from Kabiru Lawal for Desmond, and at that time Kabiru was doing quite well. It is true, but there was a reason for it,” he said.

“But today, I say boldly that Desmond, who came into office then, has performed better than Kabiru Lawal.”

The former lawmaker urged party leaders to support Elliot for another term, arguing that Surulere would gain more from his continued representation.

He added that replacing Elliot at this point would not serve the constituency’s interest.

“Barakat is already in the cabinet. Let her remain there and allow Desmond to go for one more term, after which it can end,” he said.
