According to the Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, in a statement released on Sunday, the seizures were made on Friday, May 15, 2026, at a courier facility in Lagos during routine inspection of outbound parcels.

He revealed that 170 grams of cocaine was discovered hidden inside the lining of a clothing carton bound for Australia.

In a separate shipment, officers also uncovered 200 ampoules of pentazocine injection, 1,100 capsules of tramadol, and 100 ampoules of promethazine injection concealed within another carton headed for the United Kingdom.

The statement further noted that the recovery highlights the increasing use of sophisticated concealment methods by drug traffickers attempting to move illicit substances through international courier channels.

Beyond the Lagos interceptions, the NDLEA also carried out several nationwide operations.

In Delta State, operatives destroyed about 65,000 kilograms of skunk cultivated on farms in Ukwuani and Ughelli North LGAs, while arresting two suspects, Ifeanyichukwu Peter (52) and Godwin Vincent Osadera (30), during follow-up raids.

The agency said 27,500 kilograms of skunk were destroyed on 11 hectares in Ukwuani, with additional recovery of 22.9kg and the arrest of Peter in Obiaruku. In Ughelli North, another 37,500 kilograms were destroyed across 15 hectares, alongside the recovery of 55.4kg and the arrest of Osadera.

In Kaduna State, NDLEA officers intercepted Abdullahi Hassan along the Abuja–Kaduna highway with 1,989 rounds of RLA 7.62mm ammunition concealed in sacks of garri. The suspect and exhibits have since been transferred to another security agency for further investigation.

Other operations included the arrest of a 29-year-old man in the Federal Capital Territory who allegedly produced drug-laced cakes and cookies, with 800 grams of skunk and 2.70kg of infused products recovered from his residence in Life Camp.

Across other states, the agency reported additional seizures, including 181kg of skunk in Ogun State, over 105,000 pills of opioids in Taraba State, 1,388kg of cannabis destroyed in Edo State, and multiple interceptions in Kano involving tramadol concealed in cooking oil containers.

The NDLEA said the nationwide operations form part of ongoing efforts to dismantle drug trafficking networks and curb the spread of illicit substances across the country.

SHOCKING REVERSAL: Tinubu Withdraws APC Campaign Council List As Heavyweights Get Dropped!.

Published

on

President Bola Tinubu has ordered the recall, total withdrawal, and comprehensive reconstitution of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council originally structured for upcoming national political activities. This decisive administrative intervention follows intense public friction, widespread criticism, and administrative controversy that immediately greeted the initial roster released via official communication channels. According to deep insights from major political publications, the President acted swiftly after receiving serious grievances from high-ranking party stakeholders, senior caucus members, and legislative leaders who expressed profound dissatisfaction with the initial compilation.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The primary catalyst for this sweeping overhaul centered on glaring structural anomalies, omissions, and an apparent failure to accurately mirror the internal hierarchy, geopolitical spread, and intricate power dynamics embedded within the ruling platform. Sources close to the seat of power revealed that President Tinubu felt deeply embarrassed by these administrative lapses, emphasizing that an effective campaign machinery must seamlessly unify every influential faction, regional power block, and party heavyweight. The initial structure, which positioned former Zamfara State Governor Senator Abdul’aziz Yari as the prospective Director-General, immediately triggered internal friction due to the surprising sidelining of several core pillars and institutional leaders of the party.

A major flashpoint in the controversy involved the exclusion and improper placement of prominent figures within the national legislative apparatus and executive branch. Stakeholders vehemently kicked against arrangements that appeared to compromise the constitutional and political ranking of legislative leaders, such as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu, whose conspicuous absence drew fierce criticism from regional supporters. Furthermore, seasoned political tacticians who played pivotal roles in previous electoral victories—including former Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong, former Minister of State for Labour and Employment Festus Keyamo, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello—were entirely omitted or improperly integrated, sparking widespread discontent across various state chapters.

The fallout also highlighted intense anxiety among regional power brokers regarding the representation of vital political strongholds, particularly in the South-South region following the omission of key governors and stakeholders who champion the administration’s grassroots mobilization. In response to these widespread structural deficiencies, the President directed the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), the leadership of the National Assembly, and executive organs to meticulously review all submissions, correct regional and hierarchical imbalances, and forge an inclusive strategy. Meanwhile, voters and interested citizens seeking authentic updates regarding political processes, civic responsibilities, and electoral commission guidelines are continuously advised to consult official portals such as the Independent National Electoral Commission or other accredited institutional channels for verified data and comprehensive civic education materials.

The Adidas Azteca ball brought in $3.3m via Heritage Auctions on Saturday, which fell short of the estimated £7.3m ($10m) projection from experts.

Key details of the historic item and match include:

  • The Match: The ball was in play for the entirety of Argentina’s 2-1 quarter-final victory against England at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.

  • The Infamous Goal: Maradona scored both of Argentina’s goals, with his first involving him punching the ball past England goalkeeper Peter Shilton—an infraction missed by the referee. Post-match, Maradona famously attributed it to “a little with the head of Maradona and a little with the hand of God”.

  • Goal of the Century: Minutes later, the Argentina captain scored a legendary solo goal, weaving past five outfield players and rounding Shilton.

  • Prior Ownership: The ball was kept for over three decades by Tunisian referee Ali Bin Nasser, who officiated the match. He initially sold it in 2022 for £1.74m ($2.37m), though a subsequent attempt to sell it in 2023 did not meet the reserve price.

  • Related Memorabilia: This auction follows the 2022 sale of Maradona’s Argentina shirt from the same match, which fetched £7.1m.
