Tambuwal Breaks Silence On Shock Senatorial Exit, Reveals Why He Stepped Down.

Tambuwal, widely recognised as the ADC’s leading figure in Sokoto State, stepped aside and handed the party’s senatorial ticket to former Commissioner for Finance, Faruk Malami-Yabo.
Speaking on Friday during a strategic stakeholders’ meeting, Tambuwal described Malami-Yabo as a dedicated, competent, and forward-thinking leader capable of moving the party and the state forward.
He stated that the moment had come for seasoned politicians to intentionally make way for emerging leaders with fresh perspectives and innovative ideas.
According to him, true leadership goes beyond personal ambition and should focus on continuity, service, and preparing the next generation to take over.
Tambuwal expressed full confidence in Malami-Yabo’s capacity to offer purposeful leadership and unite the people for greater development.
In his response, Malami-Yabo praised Tambuwal for the endorsement, describing him as a political mentor, a unifying force, and an example of selfless leadership.
He also promised to uphold inclusiveness, accountability, and governance focused on the welfare of the people.
Confirming the development on Friday, Sokoto State ADC Publicity Secretary, Lamir Aminu, said Tambuwal sacrificed his personal ambition to preserve peace, stability, and internal democracy within the party.
Aminu explained that the party’s leadership in Sokoto remains committed to empowering younger politicians, adding that Tambuwal’s action reflects the ADC’s broader philosophy of nurturing vibrant new leaders.
He further disclosed that many of the party’s House of Representatives tickets in the state have also been allocated to younger candidates.
