Islamic cleric Ahmad Gumi has reacted to the reported killing of Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, described as the second-in-command of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) worldwide, in a joint operation involving American forces and the Nigerian military.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Gumi said the fight against terrorism is a religious obligation but criticised what he described as the involvement of those with “blood-stained hands” in the operation.

He wrote: “It’s a religious obligation to annihilate terrorists, but not with Beelzebub and hands stained with the blood of innocent men, women, and children.”

His comments followed an announcement by United States President Donald Trump, who disclosed that US forces and the Nigerian Armed Forces carried out a coordinated operation that led to the killing of al-Minuki in Africa.

In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump said the mission was based on extensive intelligence gathering and strategic coordination.

He stated that al-Minuki was a key ISIS figure who played a major role in planning attacks and supporting terrorist activities against Americans and communities across Africa.

Trump added that the operation would significantly weaken ISIS operations globally and reduce the group’s influence on the continent, while also commending Nigeria’s military for its role in the mission.
