Osimhen scored twice in the decisive match that secured the championship for the Turkish side, further cementing his status as one of Nigeria’s top football exports on the global stage.

In a post shared on his X handle on Monday, Obi praised the striker’s discipline, resilience, and commitment to excellence, noting that his success continues to bring pride to Nigeria.

He described Osimhen’s achievement as another example of the exceptional talent Nigeria has consistently produced.

“I want to join other fans in congratulating one of Nigeria’s many talented exports, Victor Osimhen, for successfully leading Galatasaray to the Turkish Süper Lig title with a brilliant performance, scoring twice in the decisive victory that sealed the championship,” Obi said.

He added that Osimhen’s journey should serve as motivation for young Nigerians to stay focused on their goals.

According to him, “Your resilience, discipline, and talent continue to inspire millions of young Nigerians to believe in the power of hard work, dedication, and excellence. You have remained a proud ambassador of Nigeria on the global stage, bringing honour to our nation through your achievements and conduct.”

Obi also used the opportunity to call for stronger investment in sports development in Nigeria, stressing that the sector remains largely underutilised despite its vast potential.

He noted that sports can create jobs, promote unity, and open global opportunities for young people if properly developed.

“I have often spoken about the transformative power of sports and the immense opportunities it offers to young people. This is why the persistent neglect of the sector in our country is deeply regrettable,” he said.

Reiterating Nigeria’s wealth of talent, Obi said many young people could achieve similar success to Osimhen if given adequate support and a conducive environment.

“The truth is that Nigeria is blessed with countless talents like Osimhen, waiting for the right leadership, support, and environment to rise, excel, and bring glory to the nation,” he added.

He concluded by reaffirming his vision of a “new Nigeria” where all sectors grow together for balanced national development, while wishing Osimhen continued success in his career.
