Breaking: APC Unveils Screening Committee, Releases Timetable For Governorship and National Assembly Aspirants
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the timetable for the screening of aspirants contesting for Senate and House of Representatives seats ahead of its primary elections for the 2027 general polls.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
reports that the schedule was made public on Friday in a statement issued by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
According to the statement, Senate aspirants will undergo screening from Saturday, May 9 to Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the Abuja Continental Hotel (formerly Sheraton), Abuja.
It further stated that House of Representatives aspirants will also be screened within the same dates, at Treasures Suites & Conferences, Abuja.
Morka urged all aspirants to appear promptly for the exercise and ensure they come along with all necessary documents and credentials.
In a related development, the APC also announced the composition of its Screening Committee for incumbent governors seeking re-election or contesting Senate seats.
The committee will be chaired by the party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, while the National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, will serve as Secretary. Other members will be drawn from the National Working Committee (NWC).
This was contained in a separate statement issued on Friday by the APC National Organizing Secretary, Muhammad Argungu.
He explained that screening for sitting governors seeking re-election or Senate seats will hold from Friday, May 8 to Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Plateau State Governors’ Lodge, starting at 4:00 PM on the first day and 10:00 AM on the second day.
Argungu added that screening for other governorship aspirants will take place from Saturday, May 9 to Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, beginning at 10:00 AM daily.
