Political Tension: Dickson Defends NDC, Slams Propaganda Push.
Former Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, has called on Nigerians to disregard what he described as propaganda surrounding the registration of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In a statement shared via his handle on Monday, Dickson expressed confidence in the party’s growing nationwide support, saying the NDC continues to gain traction through the collaboration of experienced political actors with strong grassroots influence.
He explained that the party’s registration process dates back to 2017, when it initially received approval from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) before the process was later suspended.
According to him, when political party registration resumed in 2025, the promoters of the NDC revisited and updated their earlier application to align with current requirements, noting that the party is built on principles of inclusion, mentorship, and public service.
Dickson also encouraged Nigerians to join the party, register, and take part in the political process, stressing that the NDC is open to all citizens interested in leadership and national development.
He said, “I thank Nigerians across all parts of our country for their growing support and confidence in us and in the NDC…”
He described the party as a convergence of political leaders with strong followership and experience, working together to build a structured and enduring political platform.
Dickson added that the NDC aims to evolve into an ideological party capable of outliving its founders, drawing comparisons with established political movements across the world.
He further stated that the party is designed to give special attention to young people and women, while also prioritising mentorship and inclusive governance.
He maintained that documentation shows the NDC’s registration efforts began in 2017, including initial INEC approval before the process was halted, and that the application was later updated when registration resumed.
Acknowledging that political projects often attract criticism, rumours, and misinformation, Dickson urged Nigerians to ignore such narratives and remain focused on the party’s objectives.
He concluded by calling on Nigerians to join the NDC, register, and actively participate in elections, saying the goal is to collectively rebuild and reposition the country
