Athletic Club have officially announced the appointment of German coach Edin Terzic as their new head coach on a two-year contract.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The 43-year-old is expected to take over duties at the start of next season and will be formally unveiled by the Bilbao-based club during the summer. He succeeds Ernesto Valverde, who revealed in March that he would leave the role after four years in charge.

Terzic joins the Spanish side following two spells at Borussia Dortmund, where he earned recognition for leading the club through competitive title races. He won the German Cup in 2021, narrowly missed out on the Bundesliga title in 2023, and guided Dortmund to the UEFA Champions League final in 2024.

He left Dortmund after a 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid at Wembley, bringing his managerial spell there to an end. Athletic have now moved swiftly to secure his services as they begin preparations for a new chapter.

Former player Andoni Iraola was also linked with a return to San Mamés after confirming his departure from AFC Bournemouth this summer, but the Basque club ultimately settled on Terzic, highlighting a preference for new ideas and European experience.

Before becoming Dortmund head coach, Terzic served as assistant to Slaven Bilic at both Beşiktaş and West Ham United, gaining experience across different European leagues.

Athletic currently sit eighth in the La Liga standings with four matches remaining.

  • Legal Defense: Adeniyi Adeyemi, who identifies as the Director-General of the PFIPC, has denied accusations of forgery and impersonation. He stated he is prepared to defend himself in a court of competent jurisdiction to clear his name.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

    • Government Stance: The Presidency has labeled the PFIPC a “fictitious” organization, with spokesperson Bayo Onanuga describing Adeyemi as a “con artist” who used forged documents to impersonate a government official. Police investigations have reportedly led to an eight-count charge of forgery, impersonation, and fraud filed against Adeyemi and two associates at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

    • Adeyemi’s Allegations: Adeyemi denies all wrongdoing and claims his legal troubles stem from a dispute with the Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila. He alleged that the disagreement began after he refused a request from the Chief of Staff for a 48 per cent share of the agency’s ₦27.39 billion take-off grant. He further claimed that ₦400 million was collected by proxy and demanded an independent investigation by President Bola Tinubu.

    • Budgetary Discrepancies: The controversy is compounded by the appearance of the organization in the 2026 Appropriation Bill, which listed an allocation of ₦1.303 billion for the entity.

    • Procedural Details: While the Presidency maintains that the agency does not exist and alleges that Adeyemi attempted to use fraudulent documents to open bank accounts, they noted that no government funds were successfully transferred into those accounts. The case is scheduled to proceed in the Federal High Court in Abuja on July 27.
