The commendation followed an on-site inspection by an NCAA delegation as part of technical assessments ahead of potential approval for 2026 Hajj operations. The team was led by the General Manager of Aerodrome and Airspace Standards, Bayode B.S., represented by Director Ahmad Abba. During the inspection, the officials evaluated key airport facilities, including the runway, terminal building, and control tower. They expressed satisfaction with the standard of construction, noting that the infrastructure largely complied with required aviation safety regulations. According to the delegation, the level of readiness demonstrated the state government’s commitment to delivering a safe, modern, and functional airport for both residents and travellers.
