Ebonyi Shake-Up Ends As Governor Nwifuru Reinstates Suspended Officials.

The governor made the announcement on Sunday during a church service held at the Government House Chapel in Abakaliki to commemorate the 2026 Father’s Day celebration.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Monday Uzor.

According to Nwifuru, the decision was taken as a gesture of appreciation for the unwavering support his administration has received from workers across the state.

He said the recall was intended to honour the state workforce and further strengthen government operations while fostering unity within public service.

However, the governor maintained that officials from the Ministry of Lands would remain suspended pending the conclusion of ongoing investigations into their cases.

Nwifuru also expressed displeasure over the conduct of some political appointees who publicly declared ambitions for elective offices without first consulting him.

He described such actions as disrespectful and warned that political aspirations must be pursued with due regard for consultation, discipline, and established leadership structures.

The governor stressed that all appointees under his administration must uphold loyalty, order, and discipline in public service.

Speaking on Father’s Day, Nwifuru congratulated men and fathers, describing them as the backbone of families and society.

He said the occasion provided an important moment to reflect on the responsibilities of men as heads of families, defenders of faith, and contributors to societal development.

The governor urged fathers and men in leadership to continue setting positive examples in their homes, churches, and communities.

He commended men for their commitment to family values, faith, and community service, noting that their sacrifices and integrity remain vital to building a morally sound society.

Nwifuru added that in a period when the nation seeks principled leadership, discipline, and unity, men who uphold righteousness, peace, and justice remain critical to shaping a better future.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the People’s Charter of Needs agenda, aimed at creating an environment where families can flourish.

The governor also encouraged women to honour and respect their husbands, while urging men to continue embracing values such as love, humility, courage, and faith.

He assured residents that his government would keep working with all segments of society to promote development, discipline, and strong moral values throughout Ebonyi State.
