Breaking: Peter Obi Confirms Exit From ADC, Reveals Reasons Behind His Departure.

Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has confirmed his exit from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

News reports that Obi made the announcement in a statement posted on his X account on Sunday, where he reflected on his political journey and the current state of the nation.

He described the prevailing political environment as increasingly hostile and discouraging, noting that even within political partnerships, individuals can still face opposition and internal criticism.

Obi clarified that his decision was not driven by any personal disagreement with party leaders, including Senator David Mark and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, whom he said he continues to respect.

According to him, repeated internal crises and legal disputes within the party contributed to his decision to leave.

He compared the situation to similar challenges he previously encountered in the Labour Party, reaffirming his belief that leadership should be about service rather than domination, stressing that he has never used power to suppress others.

Obi also dismissed claims that his actions were motivated by personal ambition, insisting instead that his focus remains on improving security, economic stability, and the welfare of Nigerians.

Despite the setbacks, he expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future.

In his statement, Obi wrote that he had reflected deeply after attending church service and felt the need to speak to Nigerians about his experiences.

He said many people do not fully understand the personal and emotional burdens leaders carry while trying to serve in difficult circumstances.

Obi lamented what he described as a toxic political environment, where insecurity, intimidation, scrutiny, and discouragement have become widespread.

He also noted that even allies sometimes contribute to internal pressure, with some publicly aligned individuals privately distancing themselves or joining in criticism.

According to him, society often misinterprets humility as weakness and compassion as foolishness, while treating equality and fairness with suspicion.

Obi maintained that he has always sought to uplift others rather than oppress them, adding that he has never used privilege or resources to intimidate or diminish anyone.

He stressed that leadership, to him, has always been about service, sacrifice, and helping others rise.

He further stated that his departure from ADC was not because of any ill treatment from party leaders, but due to recurring internal conflicts and instability within the party structure.

Obi alleged that ongoing crises, court cases, and divisions have continued to distract from governance-focused politics, creating an environment driven more by control than service.

He added that even those who leave political spaces in search of peace are still often subjected to criticism and character attacks.

Obi said he often questions why integrity and honesty are frequently misunderstood in Nigeria, and why proper management of public resources is sometimes wrongly judged.

He clarified that he is not driven by ambition for political office, but by a desire to see a country where insecurity is reduced, citizens are safe, hunger is eliminated, and displaced persons can return to their homes.

He concluded by reaffirming his belief in Nigeria’s potential, insisting that a better nation built on justice, fairness, and capable leadership is still possible.
