He made the announcement in a video shared online after paying a visit to the APC secretariat in Imo State. In the video, he informed party officials of his desire to represent the Orsu, Orlu, and Oru East Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections. He also noted in the caption that he had communicated his ambition to party leaders, who reportedly expressed support for his move. “I came to congratulate and encourage our party leaders and also to share my humble desire to represent my people at the House of Representatives,” he said, adding, “God is in control; let His will be done.” During the visit, a party chieftain described him as a versatile personality, noting his influence across business and public life, and expressed optimism about his aspiration. Cubana Chief Priest has recently become more vocal in his support for the ruling party and the current administration. He was also appointed as the Imo Director of the City Boy Movement, a youth organisation backing President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
