Gwarzo made this known after obtaining his nomination form on Wednesday, declaring his intention to contest. He said his decision is driven by a commitment to serve his constituents with sincerity, fairness, and dedication. The nomination process was carried out through representation by the member representing Gwarzo/Kabo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdullahi M. Gwarzo, alongside the former Chairman of Kumbotso Local Government, Hon. Hassan Garba Farawa. Confirming his ambition on his official Facebook page, Gwarzo stated that he had formally taken a step into the senatorial contest. “Today, I formally purchased the nomination form to contest for the Kano North Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections,” he wrote. He added that his aspiration is rooted in a desire to serve the district with integrity and commitment. “I pray that Almighty Allah grants us success in this journey and guides us to serve our people with sincerity, dedication, and justice. Ameen,” he added. It would be recalled that the incumbent senator representing Kano North is Senator Barau I. Jibrin of the APC, who also serves as the Deputy President of the Senate.
