Speaking on the Sunday edition of Politics Today on Channels Television, APC spokesperson Felix Morka alleged that Atiku and other political actors contributed to destabilising the ADC and mishandled the crisis within the party. He criticised the opposition for attributing its internal problems to the APC, insisting they should accept responsibility for their own actions. Morka said, “The ADC legal troubles started after a suit was filed by a party member who felt sidelined by these so-called hijackers—Atiku Abubakar’s group—who took over a party they know little about.” He further alleged that the new entrants treated existing members with contempt, prompting internal resistance and legal action that, according to him, the party failed to manage properly. “They mishandled their legal case and still went ahead to appeal without merit. How is that the APC’s fault?” he asked. Morka also questioned why experienced political figures, including former vice presidents, governors, ministers, and a former Senate President, were unwilling to accept responsibility for their internal disputes. “These individuals have refused to own up to any part of their crisis. Instead, they keep blaming the APC,” he added. His remarks come amid rising political tensions within opposition circles, following a recent summit in Ibadan, Oyo State, where leaders reportedly agreed to work toward fielding a joint presidential candidate in the next general election. The meeting was widely seen as part of efforts to build a stronger opposition coalition against the APC ahead of future polls. However, the ruling party insists the opposition must first resolve its internal disagreements, particularly within the ADC, before presenting itself as a credible alternative.

Expressing that highlife is part of the Afrobeats lineage, Tekno emphasized:
“Fela is not the originator of Afrobeats. Lagos people and the Yorubas might say he is the one, but I am from the East, and we had legends like Oliver De Coque. Oliver De Coque made pure highlife music. Highlife is also Afrobeats.”
Ultimately, the singer maintains that musical history should not overlook the diverse group of unsung legends across different regions who laid the foundation for the genre.
