Nothing Will Change If Peter Obi Becomes President – Shehu Sani Sparks Debate.

Published

on

Former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has claimed that Nigeria would remain unchanged if the former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, becomes president.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Sani made the statement during an appearance on the Honest Bunch Podcast, where he argued that Obi’s political support base is largely driven by ethnic loyalty.

According to him, the support for Peter Obi is mostly tribal, adding that many of his followers come from his ethnic group.

He also suggested that Peter Obi, President Bola Tinubu, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and former President Olusegun Obasanjo all share similar political ideologies and thinking patterns.

Sani said: “The support for Peter Obi is tribal; many of the people supporting him are people who come from his ethnic background. If Obi becomes the President of Nigeria today, nothing changes, everything remains the same.”

He further added that, in his view, all four political figures operate from the same ideological standpoint and will not bring fundamentally different outcomes to governance.

Sani also expressed confidence that President Tinubu would win the 2027 election.

Recalling his time in the Senate, he noted that during Buhari’s administration, insecurity persisted in the North while criticism of such issues often drew backlash from fellow northern lawmakers.

The endorsement was made public by the Jigawa APC Chairman, Ahmed Garba, during a strategic meeting held with Governor Namadi in Dutse.

Garba explained that the decision followed wide consultations involving party elders, stakeholders, and political leaders across the state.

He said the move was aimed at promoting unity within the APC and ensuring continuity in leadership at both national and state levels.

The development comes after the APC released its 2027 election timetable, scheduling its presidential primary for May 15 and 16, 2026.

Under the party’s rules, presidential aspirants are required to pay ₦100 million for nomination and expression of interest forms, while governorship aspirants must pay ₦50 million.

The Jigawa APC Elders Committee also adopted a consensus arrangement for the primaries, saying it would reduce internal conflicts and present a united political front.

Party leaders expressed confidence in the leadership of Tinubu and Namadi, pointing to achievements in infrastructure, agriculture, education, and economic development.

They added that the early endorsement would strengthen the APC’s electoral chances and boost preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The committee maintained that the decision reflects the collective will of stakeholders in Jigawa State to sustain ongoing development efforts and secure victory for the party across all levels.

History Made As Eagles Pick Nigeria’s Uar Bernard In 2026 NFL Draft.

The Philadelphia Eagles used the 251st overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft to select Nigerian prospect Uar Bernard, making a bold late-round move on a highly athletic but inexperienced player who has yet to feature in competitive American football.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Bernard first caught widespread attention after an impressive performance at the HBCU showcase.

According to The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman, Bernard measured 6-foot-4½ and 306 pounds, with 11-inch hands and nearly 36-inch arms at the NFL’s HBCU showcase. Feldman also noted that some observers described him as looking like a “Marvel creation” due to his rare physical build.

He reportedly recorded a 39-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-10 broad jump—14 inches further than any other defensive tackle at this year’s combine—alongside a 4.63-second 40-yard dash and just 6% body fat.

The Eagles have previously succeeded with similar developmental projects, most notably rugby convert Jordan Mailata, and will hope Bernard can follow a similar path. He has trained as a defensive tackle but may also be considered for an offensive tackle role.

Elsewhere in the draft, the Miami Dolphins selected British tight end Seydou Traore with the 180th pick, making him the first graduate of the NFL Academy to be drafted.

Traore, who grew up in London and played for the London Warriors before joining the International Player Pathway programme, was announced by former NFL Academy player Efe Obada at the draft in Pittsburgh.

Obada described the moment as symbolic, saying it represented “living proof that the dream is possible.”

Traore becomes the third International Player Pathway athlete drafted, following Jordan Mailata and Travis Clayton. During his college career at Arkansas State and Mississippi State, he recorded 131 receptions for 1,482 yards and 10 touchdowns across 48 games.

Miami general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan described him as a “raw, athletic ball of clay” with significant upside, adding that the team believed his best football is still ahead and that he was selected at strong value in the fifth round.
