Reports indicate that Burna Boy has recently faced backlash online over claims of arrogance, intensified by an incident involving his confrontation with Wizkid’s DJ, DJ Tunez, at a Lagos club. The altercation reportedly escalated into a social media clash between Burna Boy and Wizkid.

Reacting to the controversy, some Nigerians accused the singer of being habitually aggressive and described his behaviour as arrogant.

However, in an interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on Channels Television, Bose Ogulu defended her son’s conduct, stating that she has no issue with how he is perceived.

When asked whether she was bothered by Burna Boy being labelled arrogant or how she manages his brand, she replied that she is unfazed by such descriptions.

“I don’t mind honestly, I don’t mind at all. Any adjective they want to attach to you is okay. The thing is, who are you? If knowing your worth and carrying yourself as such is arrogance, then it is a good thing, and I can’t apologise for that,” she said.

She further explained that society often expects people to downplay their worth.

“We were born into a world where we were expected to put our heads down. First is the colour of your skin, the colour of your passport, for me, my gender. So I don’t understand that concept. If I know something, I know it, and I expect you to recognise it. And if you don’t, then put me to the test,” she added.

Popular Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, widely known as Mr P, has dismissed the popular saying that “blood is thicker than water,” amid renewed tensions within his family.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Recall that the singer recently stirred reactions after announcing a change to his birthday, stating that it will now be celebrated on November 30 instead of November 18.

In a series of posts shared on his handle on Wednesday, Okoye suggested that his long-running feud with his brothers has resurfaced, declaring that his peace of mind takes precedence over family ties.

Mr P also refuted claims that his wife played any role in the renewed conflict, describing such narratives as false and misleading.

“Before you drag any woman into this! No woman directed or advised anyone to steal from what I worked for over the years. Stop pushing that narrative to suit your agenda,” he wrote.

He maintained that the issues within the family date back many years, long before any of them got married, insisting that the alleged betrayal and disputes are deeply rooted.

“None of us were even married 20-something years ago when this whole betrayal and stealing started! I said what I said,” he added.

The singer, who has previously accused unnamed individuals of betraying him, admitted that the situation has been emotionally draining but stressed his commitment to prioritising his mental wellbeing.

“Yes, it’s painful. And yes, it’s my loss. But no one should keep reminding me that I was betrayed and used by my own blood for over 20 years plus,” he said.

Reaffirming his stance, Okoye noted that he would still choose to distance himself, regardless of family pressure, emphasising the importance of setting personal boundaries.

“Even if my parents were alive and supported this kind of betrayal, I’d still choose to step back, cut them off and protect my peace. Boundaries are necessary! Blood isn’t thicker than my peace of mind,” he stated.

He further disclosed that the disagreement has escalated into a legal battle, indicating that the matter is currently before the court.

“Now that I’ve uncovered the betrayal that has been going on for over 20 years plus, suddenly we’re blood? No… it doesn’t work like that. We are still in court!” he added.

A review of her page shows that she has now deleted all posts linked to the cancer diagnosis, including interviews and other content previously shared in support of her claim.

The controversy began in January when she announced that she had been diagnosed with stage four breast cancer and appealed to the public for financial assistance. She had supported the claim with what she described as a medical report.

However, Xinus Medical Diagnostics later disputed the authenticity of the document, alleging that it had been tampered with. The facility claimed the original report actually belonged to Deborah Mbara and was issued in May 2025.

Mbara, a makeup artist and cancer survivor, also accused Blessing CEO of using her medical records without permission.

The allegations triggered public outrage and raised questions about the legitimacy of the fundraising appeal. Mbara’s family subsequently petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), accusing the influencer of cyberbullying, forgery, and fraud related to the fundraising effort.

It was further alleged that over ₦300 million was raised from the public under false pretences.

The Nigerian Cancer Society also called for a full investigation, urging authorities to ensure accountability in the matter.

Blessing CEO had initially deactivated her Instagram account as the controversy intensified but has now returned to the platform. As of the time of this report, she has not publicly addressed the allegations since her return.
