The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has confirmed that a severe rainstorm caused the collapse of one of its transmission towers along the Ikeja West–Osogbo 330kV line in Lagos.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The incident occurred on April 16 and was described by the company as a force majeure event, resulting from extreme weather conditions beyond its control.

According to a statement by the General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, the transmission line tripped during the storm after a fault was detected along the route.

She explained that the fault was traced to about 14.9km from the Ikeja West (Ayobo) end of the line, after which further checks revealed that Tower 515 had collapsed at its midsection.

TCN said it has already begun mobilising engineers, equipment, and materials to rebuild the damaged structure, with teams currently on site working to dismantle the wreckage and restore the line.

Despite the setback, the company assured that power supply would be stabilised through alternative transmission routes already in operation to evacuate bulk electricity.

It added that restoration work is ongoing and updates will be provided as progress is made toward full recovery of the affected line.

THE ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN: Keyamo Drops Bombshell, Insisting Peter Obi Must Be Audited Under The Same Microscope As Tinubu!

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has voiced strong support for the Anambra State Government’s scrutiny of former governor and presidential candidate Peter Obi’s record in office.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The defense comes amid an ongoing dispute between Obi and Governor Charles Soludo’s administration regarding the state’s financial standing and legacy debts.

Key Highlights of the Controversy and Response:

  • The Debt Dispute: The Anambra State Government, through Commissioner for Information and Value Reorientation Law Mefor, released figures and documents alleging that Obi’s administration incurred external loans amounting to $123.7 million (with a $92.35 million balance as of June 2026) and disputed claims regarding an ecological fund account.

  • Obi’s Counter-Claim: Obi strongly denied leaving the state indebted, asserting he paid all obligations before leaving office in 2014 and vowing to halt his 2027 presidential campaign if debt is proven.

  • Keyamo’s Call for Equal Standards: Weighing in on the clash, Keyamo condemned critics for applying double standards, pointing out the hypocrisy of heavily scrutinizing President Bola Tinubu’s record from 27 years ago while objecting to an examination of Obi’s tenure from 19 years ago.

  • Defense of Fact-Checking: Emphasizing that both men have sought the same office, Keyamo argued that a presidential candidate making public claims about his gubernatorial tenure must expect to be fact-checked, ultimately commending Governor Soludo for challenging those claims.
