Fresh divisions have hit the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State, as a faction loyal to Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani announced its mass exit from the party.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The decision followed a stakeholders’ meeting held at the residence of Hon. Mijiyewa Umaru Kugama, where members from the three senatorial zones accused the party leadership of eroding internal democracy.

In a communiqué issued after the meeting, the group alleged that the leadership had sidelined the rule of law and rendered the party structure in the state ineffective.

They pointed to the recently conducted congresses, describing them as manipulated and imposed against the will of party members.

The faction also accused party officials of disregarding court orders, warning that such actions encourage lawlessness.

Declaring a vote of no confidence in the leadership, the group announced its resignation, insisting it would not remain in a system marked by injustice and impunity.

They rejected the outcome of the congresses as invalid and revealed plans to move to another political platform, though no party was specified.

The group further mandated Binani to lead their next political steps ahead of the 2027 elections, while also outlining plans for grassroots mobilisation across the state.

They said the move signals the start of a new political direction focused on credibility, inclusiveness, and genuine democratic values.

Gbenjo’s warning comes amid growing controversy surrounding the late singer’s death and burial arrangements, with reports of disagreements among members of his family.

The gospel singer spoke on Tuesday during a night of tributes held in honour of Toluwanisings in Ibadan, Oyo State. He warned against allowing the situation to degenerate into a controversy similar to the one that followed the death of Nigerian singer Mohbad.

Describing the deceased as a devoted Christian and a genuine servant of God, Gbenjo said Toluwanisings was passionate about his faith and had a good relationship with people.

He urged the public to stop fuelling unnecessary controversy over the late singer’s death, particularly through social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.
