A factional leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Nafi’u Bala Gombe, has said that any discussion involving former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, on Northern issues is meaningless, accusing him of betraying the region.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

reports that Gombe made the remarks during an interview with Premier Radio in Kano, where he faulted Kwankwaso’s past political decisions and alleged that they were not in the interest of Northern Nigeria.

He accused the former governor of contributing to the region’s political setbacks, insisting he had opportunities to make a positive impact but failed to do so.

Gombe said: “Kwankwaso called me, telling me this is the solution for the North… I said no. Any discussion concerning the North with people like you is rubbish.

“You were the same people the North was looking up to. You had the opportunity to save it and make a difference, but you refused. It was you people that killed the North.”

He also claimed that Kwankwaso’s participation in the last general election weakened the North politically, especially with Atiku Abubakar also in the race.

According to him, Kwankwaso was aware he had little chance of winning but still contested, allegedly splitting Northern votes and contributing to President Bola Tinubu’s victory.

Gombe further said Kwankwaso has no moral authority to speak on Northern issues, accusing him of prioritising personal ambition over regional interests.

He added: “We begged Kwankwaso to step down for Atiku… he refused and still went ahead under a small party.

“He knew he was not going to win… but he still went ahead just to split votes and pave the way for Tinubu.

“People of the North have not forgotten what you did. People like Kwankwaso do not have the gut to talk to me about the North.”

Gbenjo’s warning comes amid growing controversy surrounding the late singer’s death and burial arrangements, with reports of disagreements among members of his family.

The gospel singer spoke on Tuesday during a night of tributes held in honour of Toluwanisings in Ibadan, Oyo State. He warned against allowing the situation to degenerate into a controversy similar to the one that followed the death of Nigerian singer Mohbad.

Describing the deceased as a devoted Christian and a genuine servant of God, Gbenjo said Toluwanisings was passionate about his faith and had a good relationship with people.

He urged the public to stop fuelling unnecessary controversy over the late singer’s death, particularly through social media platforms such as TikTok and Instagram.

“You can never see Toluwani in the midst of jobless people. He had a good heart. He was a friend to everybody. He served the Lord with all his heart. Don’t turn Toluwani into Mohbad. That madness on TikTok and Instagram must stop. If you are jobless, go and look for a job,” Gbenjo said.

Woli Agba disclosed this in a public notice shared on his Instagram page on Sunday.

In the notice issued by their solicitors, Gemgold, the comedians warned members of the public against publishing or circulating allegations they described as false and defamatory against them.
