ADC Crisis Intensifies: Court Halts Congresses In Adamawa!.

A High Court in Adamawa State has ordered the suspension of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) congresses in the state, including ward, local government, and state-level meetings.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The directive, issued by Justice Ahmed Isah of High Court No. 6, Yola, comes pending the determination of a substantive suit before the court, with the next hearing scheduled for April 15.

The suit was filed by the state party chairman, Yohanna Shehu, who claims he was excluded from the congress planning process. Shehu challenged the legitimacy of the arrangements, describing them as undemocratic and non-inclusive.

The congresses were being coordinated by a state transition committee led by Sadiq Dasin, a move that has sparked controversy within the party. Some stakeholders strongly opposed the committee’s role, arguing it bypassed established party leadership.

Reacting to the court’s decision, Shehu emphasized the lack of transparency and consultation:
“How can you plan the congresses of a party without due consultation with the state chairman?”

The court’s intervention has effectively paused the party’s internal electoral process in Adamawa, pending the outcome of the case.

Gbenjo’s warning comes amid growing controversy surrounding the late singer’s death and burial arrangements, with reports of disagreements among members of his family.

The gospel singer spoke on Tuesday during a night of tributes held in honour of Toluwanisings in Ibadan, Oyo State. He warned against allowing the situation to degenerate into a controversy similar to the one that followed the death of Nigerian singer Mohbad.
