Air Chief Orders Troops To Intensify Strikes, Boosts Morale In Makurdi.

According to a statement on the Nigerian Air Force’s official page, Aneke delivered the message on April 6, 2026, during an Easter luncheon with members of the Air Component of Operation Whirl Stroke in Makurdi, Benue State.

Represented by the Chief of Medical Services, Air Vice Marshal Ikechukwu Ogbodo, the Air Chief praised troops for their contributions to recent operational successes, noting that their efforts continue to strengthen national security.

The statement highlighted that the Air Force, in collaboration with other security agencies, has intensified intelligence-driven air operations targeting bandits and terrorist groups. Aneke emphasized the use of precision strikes, close air support, armed reconnaissance, and surveillance missions to disrupt enemy movements, dismantle command structures, and limit hostile activities.

“These sustained operations have significantly contributed to the successes recorded within the joint operations area,” the statement read.

Aneke further assured that the Air Force would continue investing in advanced equipment and prioritizing troop welfare to maintain operational effectiveness.

Speaking at the event, Air Officer Commanding Tactical Air Command, Michael Ekwueme, described the gathering as a morale-boosting initiative aimed at strengthening unity among personnel.

Meanwhile, Air Component Commander of Operation Whirl Stroke, Wing Commander OO Evulobi, reaffirmed the troops’ commitment to sustaining operational momentum in support of ground forces.

The Air Force stressed that continued collaboration with other security agencies remains essential to ensuring lasting security in affected regions.
